JUSTIN BIEBER Y MEGAN THEE STALLION LIDERAN LAS NOMINACIONES DE LOS VMAs, JUNTO A BILLIE EILISH, BTS, DOJA CAT, DRAKE, GIVEON, LIL NAS X Y OLIVIA RODRIGO

Ya podemos desvelar las nominaciones a los VMAs 2021, que se podrán ver en directo en MTV España en la madrugada del 12 al 13 de septiembre a las 02:00, y entre las que figuran los artistas cuyo impacto cultural y trabajo en el último año ha transformado la industria de la música, creando una conversación a nivel global. Este año, Justin Bieber (7) lidera la lista de nominados, seguido de Megan Thee Stallion (6) y de Billie Eilish, BTS, Doja Cat, Drake, Giveon, Lil Nas X y, la nominada por primera vez, Olivia Rodrigo, todos ellos con 5 nominaciones cada uno.

Los VMAs 2021 regresan a la ciudad de Nueva York y se emitirán en directo desde el Barclays Center el domingo 12 de septiembre a través de las plataformas lineales y digitales de MTV en 180 países y territorios, llegando a casi 400 millones de hogares en casi 30 idiomas diferentes, y pudiendo verse en directo en MTV España en la madrugada del 12 al 13 de septiembre a las 02:00h, seguidos del pre-show en directo a las 00:30h.

Justin Bieber (7) lidera la lista de nominados de este año, junto a Megan Thee Stallion (6) y Billie Eilish, BTS, Doja Cat, Drake, Giveon, Lil Nas X y, la nominada por primera vez, Olivia Rodrigo, todos ellos con 5 nominaciones cada uno. A Olivia Rodrigo también se unen The Kid LAROI y 24kGoldn como nominados por primera vez en diversas categorías.

Los fans podrán votar por sus artistas favoritos en 14 categorías sin distinción de género, como "Video del Año", "Artista del Año" o "Mejor Colaboración", entre otras, a partir de hoy y hasta el viernes 3 de septiembre a través de vma.mtv.com, salvo en la categoría a "Mejor Artista Revelación", presentada por Facebook, la cual permanecerá activa hasta el espectáculo del domingo 12 de septiembre. Las nominaciones para las categorías sociales, incluyendo "Mejor Grupo" y "Canción del Verano", se anunciarán próximamente.
 
Además, para esta edición, MTV se ha asociado con Marlene Marmolejos (@motionmami), Aja Walton (@ajackdannie) y Fred Sands IV (@IVormerlyknownas) para que anuncien las categorías del espectáculo, como "Vídeo del Año", "Canción del Año" y "Artista del Año", a través de cada uno de sus medios, desde el arte digital hasta el nail art.
 
Los VMAs 2021 se convertirán en una de las primeras galas de premios con fans en Nueva York desde la reapertura de la ciudad. La salud y la seguridad de los artistas, los fans, el personal y los partners siguen siendo la prioridad número uno, y MTV y el Barclays Center están trabajando estrechamente con los funcionarios estatales y locales para implementar las mejores prácticas con el fin de reunir de forma segura a los fans de la música de todo el mundo. Los protocolos actuales de salud y seguridad del Barclays Center pueden consultarse aquí, y los protocolos adicionales se anunciarán cuando se acerque el evento.

Además, MTV está colaborando con 9/11 Day, la organización sin ánimo de lucro que inició y dirige el Día Nacional del Servicio y el Recuerdo - National Day of Service and Remembrance-, para realizar una serie de actividades durante la semana previa a los VMAs 2021, promoviendo la concienciación y la acción positiva en conmemoración del 20º aniversario del 11-S.
